U.S. Pickup Truck Tests by mcox06
U.S. automakers are hosting a competition in which domestic and internationally-produced full size pickup trucks are being compared side-by-side. As manufacturers of American pickup trucks face increased competition from Japanese companies, General Motors has invited U.S. and international truck companies to showcase their products for automotive critics. During the tests, which took place on GM's 4,000-acre Michigan Proving Grounds, trucks drove over a number of different road conditions to demonstrate their ability to brake, tow and accelerate. GM officials say that by comparing different trucks side-by-side, consumers benefit as they can view several competing brands simultaneously.
