The Sprint Sound & Speed, Presented by SunTrust official show truck recently debuted at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 1-4, 2005, was a prominent display in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum at the inaugural Sprint Sound & Speed Presented by SunTrust event on January 13 & 14. The first of its kind, the event combined the drivers and cars of NASCAR, with some of the top stars of country music. All proceeds beneffited the Victory Junction Gang Camp, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Honorary co-chairs were Vince Gill and Kyle Petty and event highlights included displays of the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and Grand-Am cars, historic artifacts from racing and country music legends, an auction of music and racing memorabilia, interviews with both current and legendary stars of NASCAR and country music, autograph sessions with artists and drivers, interactive fan attractions and a finale concert featuring Montgomery Gentry, LeAnn Rimes and Keith Anderson. Events took place at the Gaylord Entertainment Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Appearing country music artists included: Trisha Yearwood, George Jones, Montgomery Gentry, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Anderson, Julie Roberts, Darryl Worley, Diamond Rio, Jo Dee Messina, Ricky Skaggs, Lila McCann, Chely Wright, Andy Griggs, Shannon Brown, Erica Jo, Michael McDonald, Lee Greenwood, Cowboy Crush, Trent Tomlinson, Taylor Swift, and John Stone. Drivers included: Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Richard Petty, Kyle Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip, Carl Edwards, Ernie Irvan, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, and 2005 Grand American champs, Wayne Taylor and Max Angelelli. Supermodel Nikki Taylor also took part in the festivities. The Sprint Sound & Speed show truck developed by Jeff Kelderman is a 2005 Chevy 2500HD Duramax 4X4. The custom Sprint Sound & Speed digital graphics were designed and installed by APE Wraps (http://www.apewraps.com). The truck features a 12” Kelderman Air Ride lift kit with a Kelderman engineered straight axle Dana suspension kit, Accu-Air computerized ride control system, Bilstein 7100 shock absorbers, a Banks 6 Gun power system with a Banks stainless exhaust, and a Kenwood audio/video system featuring: four amps, 14 speakers, six video monitors and navigation. The Sprint Sound and Speed official truck also features good looking Weld Racing 22” x 12” Cheyenne wheels, Nitto, 40” X 15.50” X 22” Mud Grappler tires, and an APM Ram Air Hood. AMP Research provided the Power Step for ease of entry with the opening of any door of the cab. Jeff Kelderman, no stranger to concepting and creating show trucks for NASCAR drivers to benefit worthwhile charities also has developed a custom truck for Tyler Walker and Kasey Kahne (driver of the Evernham Motorsports #9 Dodge). The Kasey Kahne inspired truck was a 2005 Dodge Ram developed specifically for the Goodyear Garage Sweepstakes. This truck raised over $25,000 in funds for the Ronald McDonald House charity.
