LIQUID INTERCOOLING:
While other superchargers such as roots-type superchargers require an intercooler, the Whipple twin-screw supercharger produces far less heat making intercooling only an option for more power versus a necessity for reliability. Whipple’s new kits offer the new “liquid intercooling setup” which allows the system to run higher spark advances and more air flow under the most harsh conditions.

This process is achieved by injecting the proper amount of fuel through the supercharger under boost conditions. This phenomenon is known as a chemical intercooler. This lowers the overall discharge temperature nearly 50F for even more power. While the fuel gets compressed with the air charge inside the compressor, the fuel goes from a liquid state to a gaseous state. This phase change creates an intercooling effect, which reduces the discharge temperature.

OPTIMUM FUEL CONTOROL:
Whipple Superchargers are the far most experts in EFI fuel control. With the use of countless dyno hours and the most accurate wide band UEGO sensors in every cylinder, it was found that the factory GM manifold has unequal distribution from the factory. A problem that is exaggerated with large fuel injectors at the factory locations. Other supercharger companies claim to be experts but don’t even own 8 wide range UEGO sensors, yet make incredibly false claims regarding distribution.

Systems that replace the factory fuel injectors and some that replace the entire intake manifold have very uneven fuel and air distribution. What’s this mean? This means you have to either tune to the leanest cylinder or produce lower power levels by reducing spark advance and boost.

Whipple’s new system fires a precise amount of fuel through the supercharger. Once it enters the compressor, the fuel gets compressed with the air charge within the compressor housing. This prepares the air and fuel together for proper fuel atomization. The air and fuel then fill each cylinder evenly under pressure (boost). The Whipple system has the most even cylinder-to-cylinder distribution on the market, which allows Whipple’s to produce more peak horsepower, better fuel economy and increased reliability when compared to other systems. ENGINE GUARDIAN:
Only Whipple Superchargers offer an engine guardian system to help protect your investment. The factory PCM was designed to work with a stock, unsupercharged engine so it’s protection system cannot control boost pressure. The Whipple Engine Guardian system monitors the factory oxygen sensors, if the sensor detects a lean air/fuel mixture under open loop operation, the guardian system opens the air-bypass valve and lowers the engine boost to a safer level. This helps prevent harmful engine damage if a problem occurs. The factory PCM is also reconfigured for the proper knock detection settings for boosted operation.
