There’s no question the PT Cruiser’s popularity has withstood the test of time. With its retro-rod styling and reconfigurable interior spacer, the PT has become the people-mover of choice for many enthusiasts.
While the PT has earned a reputation for utility and economy, it has
never been known for an abundance of power. Two turbocharged
versions of its 2.4-liter, DOHC four-cylinder are available this year,
and boosts power output considerably. But for owners of the naturally
aspirated 2.4-liter engine, little has been available to improve horsepower,
torque and throttle response, until now.
After years of R&D work with previous generation PT Cruisers, AIRAID
engineers quickly identified how to improve the breathing on the
non-turbo 2.4 and developed an all new QuickFit™ intake for the 2006-2008 PT Cruiser. Like all AIRAID QuickFit™ intake systems, the new PT Cruiser system utilizes the lower portion of the stock air box for easy installation and improved air flow. The computer-designed system also seals against the underside of the hood to ensure cool, outside air is fed to the intake. Besides boosting horsepower and torque, AIRAID’s new QuickFit™ intake provides superior filtration since it uses a washable and re-useable AIRAID Premium Filter with SynthaFlow® Technology.

In terms of filtration, all AIRAID SynthaFlow™ premium filters are a specially-blended
combination of gauze and synthetic layers that consistently filter down to two
microns, providing superior protection at No Extra Cost. The filters are also
hand-poured with urethane instead of rubber to prevent cracking and
shrinkage in the extreme conditions found under the hood.

So does the system work? You bet! On the chassis dyno, the AIRAID
QuickFit™ intake system generated an additional 12 horsepower and
5 lb/ft of torque at the wheels while also improving throttle response as well. That’s a major power gain for a four-cylinder powerplant from one bolt-on part. AIRAID’s new `06 PT Cruiser intake system can be installed in less than a hour with ordinary hand tools and like all AIRAID products, the intake system features our “No-Hassle Warranty.”
