JSC Engineering, Inc. received the 2005 SEMA Award for one of the Best New Performance-Racing Products for its TreadTemp™ Logger, a data acquisition system for tires that monitors the operating temperature of the tread surface with non-contact external infrared sensors to serve as a tuning aid for tire pressure, suspension and aerodynamic set-up. The system measures instantaneous changes in tread surface temperature of the tire and saves maximum values within a specified time interval. The driver can then download on-track data from the control module, using audible feedback or an optional LCD display, in order to adjust tire pressures and suspension to achieve improved performance and safety. Drag-racing option flashes light when staged tires reach operating temperature.
